Prints, Drawings, Multiples

Mia Salsjö: Prints, Drawings, Multiples features selected works by Salsjö, produced over the past fiv years. Prominent here are the limited edition silkscreen prints produced in Cuba at the Rene Portocarerro Print Workshop in Havana. Salsjö worked in the atelier during a residency in Cuba and was later included in the 2019 Havana Biennale, featuring her work with the Havana Chamber Orchestra, titled 'Modes of Translation'.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Mia Salsjö graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2010 with qualificationsin both Fine Art (Masters) and Music Improvisation (BA). Since then she has been practicing between Australia, Indonesia and Cuba, developing projects that interweave cross-cultural imagery, music notation and socio-political symbolism. Her work is held in numerous private collections and in the Rare Books and Manuscripts Collection of the State Library of Victoria.
