Tony Smibert featured in Tasmania's Ten Days on the Island

The Japan-Influenced Works of Tony Smibert

For over four decades, Tony Smibert has explored a dialogue between East and West, between tradition and reinvention, between Tasmania and Japan. Where Islands Meet brings together a selection of works from within his oeuvre that revealthe deep and evolving influence of Japanese aesthetics on Smibert’s practice, from his luminous watercolours to his bold, recent black acrylics on canvas.
