Zhou Xiaoping's insights into the techniques and traditions of bark painting in Arnhem Land included recollections of his collaborations with Johnny Bulunbulun and others. Visitors gained insights regarding the traditional methodologies for bark painting. Several of the works on view dated back to the 1970s, a time when only traditional methods were used in the harvesting and preparation of materials.
Xiaoping's research is reflected in his significant publications including 'Our Story: Aboriginal Chinese People in Australia' 2025 https://www.aboriginal-chinese.com/ and 'Convergence: The Art of Zhou Xiaoping in Aboriginal Australia' 2020
